Clonaid,
Clonaid, Yawn, CIA, Clonaid.

It's
been wall-to-wall Clonaid for weeks now. At a time when the most
important news in the world is the ramping up of the US and UK
military presence in the Gulf for an imminent war, Clonaid trumps
the real news with a tale that would take five minutes to discredit
as drivel.
Which is hardly surprising, as that is the whole purpose
of Clonaid. Are you getting the picture? Good. Welcome to CIA
Disinfo Central, where Clonaid is like a #1 pop hit for the misdirection
crew at Langley. It's part of a collage of media themes designed
to keep your eye off the ball and fill the news columns with anything
but opposition to war.
It's the best gambit we have seen since Osama bin Laden became
the last Mr. Nasty (Oh.., you must remember him --an Arab-looking
guy out of central casting). To hard-nosed observers who view
most of the UFO/Crop-Circle phenomenon as CIA disinfo, Clonaid's
alien religion is a text-book 'Op.' Now the timing of this latest
appearance fits quite nicely.
And it's been a whirlwind ride for Clonaid as this pop-science
cloning hit has quickly spread worldwide. On Thursday, 23 January,
2003 Google News service listed 235 Clonaid stories. Latest is
a claim of a third child in Japan.
The Far East is an important market.
The
scope of mainstream media coverage is surprising for a story that
would sit better alongside "3,000-YEAR-OLD-MUMMY HAS BABY
BOY" in Weekly World News (Actual WWN Cover
Story 23rd Jan, 2003 and more believable to boot!).
The Clonaid saga kicked into gear late December 2002 and almost
immediately got a great boost, when a Miami attorney filed a lawsuit
in a Florida Court demanding the state to take custody of the
cloned baby. That neatly let Clonaid head, Brigitte Boisselier
off the hook. Due to the court action she said she could no longer
provide the media with DNA proof that an unidentified American
woman gave birth to a clone.
Florida is a Tragic Kingdom in the south of the USA where a benevolent
Bush rules Fantasyland --with the help of a little voter manipulation.
Most everything that comes out of Florida these days is fairy
tale material.
As investigative author Dan Hopsicker has so clearly delineated,
you can run a deeply dubious
operation out of Florida if you are well connected. If you are
well
connected in intelligence circles -heck, you can, with impunity
even train hijackers to fly. It's like playing home turf with
your uncle as referee.
ENTER THE LEGAL EAGLE
With the possibility of a somewhat murky background to Clonaid,
it's lucky we have Florida attorney, Bernard F. Siegel to take
them on in court -even if his actions --surely unintentionally--
resulted in massive worldwide publicity for the Raelian sect.
Mr. Siegel, filed his Clonaid action before Circuit Judge John
Frusciante. A busy judge might well have thrown out the case and
instructed Siegel to come back when he had something more than
tabloid-quality waffle about a supposed cloned 'Eve.'
Try walking into your local court and rambling on about the possible
danger to the possible existence of a child that has possibly
been cloned by some folks who believe all humans were cloned by
aliens.
With any luck the judge will accept your apology next day for
wasting court time --after you have cooled your heels overnight
in the slammer.
Or how about if Mr. Siegel was to go into a Florida court seeking
guardianship for the baby boy born to the 3,000-year-old mummy
in the Weekly World News story.
But, not only has Circuit Judge John Frusciante taken Mr. Siegel
seriously, he has taken him to his heart and ordered parties to
comply with an investigation. The Honorable Judge engaged Clonaid
vice president of marketing, Thomas Kaenzig, in protracted
discussion of the case over the telephone from Las Vegas.
It emerged that Clonaid is merely a loose arrangement of individuals
and not even a corporation per se.
Kaenzig told the Judge he neither knew where 'Eve' was born nor
where the 'organization' performs its cloning. However, at time
of writing, the Broward County Judge was plowing on relentlessly
--but has yet to mandate the appearance of any aliens before the
court for explanation.
NOBLE ENDEAVORS
Mr. Bernard F. Siegel is a partner in Aronfeld
Trial Lawyers, and a pillar of the community. He has represented
parents of missing children, and was a director of Children's
Rights of America, a President Bush "point of light" organization.
Unfortunately, this organization is now defunct
from lack of funds, despite innovative ideas such as it's 'Wolves
in Sheep's Clothing' coloring
book --to warn children of kidnap dangers.
And the legal firm's website trumpets
him as a board member of the physician-volunteer
International Hospital Relief Foundation, with an address at Biscayne
Blvd. Miami, FL. Unfortunately IHRF has such a low Internet profile
that only the long memory of a web archive can recover any details.
Not only does it not have a website
any longer, it no longer even owns the URL
http://www.intlhrf.com.
Yet according
to DiversionMag.com
(Hearst Business Communications Inc), IHRF organizes medical projects
in developing countries. As recently as Fall 2001, the IHRF was
advertising
in the Washington Academy of Family Physicians periodical seeking
volunteers bound for projects in Africa and the Caribbean.
We salute Mr. Siegel. His outstanding legal expertise and his
noble public service speak for themselves. But he is wasted in
the Law. If ever a man belonged in public relations, Mr. Bernard
F. Siegel does. He is so persuasive he might even manage to convince
Judge Frusciante to leave the bench and join him in the PR business.
But not to leave Law behind altogether. For if they ever catch
Osama Whassisname, this duo who could do a great job of representing
him and his interests. Who knows, they might even be able to circumvent
prosecution of the former CIA proxy by arguing that he was wanted
on more serious terrorist charges -not just in another jurisdiction
- but in another Galaxy!
